One teenager killed, four other teens injured in Elmore County wreck

A pickup truck crash in Elmore County has killed one teenager and left four other teens injured.

Alabama State Troopers say a 14-year-old from Deatsville who was killed was riding in the truck, which left the roadway and hit a tree. The teenager was pronounced dead at the scene.

State troopers say the driver, a 16-year-old, also of Deatsville, was injured along with three other passengers, another 14-year-old, a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old. All four teens were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The crash happened at around 3:20PM this afternoon on Lightwood Road near Hickory Road, approximately 11 miles north of Wetumpka.
