Prattville police investigating overnight hit & run accident

Prattville police are investigating a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian.

Police say it happened around 1:00 a.m. Friday in the 1600 block of East Main Street.

Chief Mark Thompson tells Action 8 News that the victim was crossing East Main Street at the crosswalk when he was struck by a white pickup truck.

The driver of the truck fled the scene and the last known direction of travel was westbound on Main Street.

Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening injuries.
