Troy Junior Running Back Kimani Vidal has been named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press. Vidal is the first Trojans to be named an AP All-American since Lawrence Tynes and Tim Betts in 2000.

In addition to being named a third-team All-American by the Associated Press, Vidal was also named the Sun Belt Offensive Player of the Year, and the Sun Belt Championship Game MVP.

As Vidal and the Trojans enter into the Birmingham Bowl, Vidal ranks second in the nation in rushing yards with 1,582 and he also ranks 13th nationally in rushing touchdowns where he’s tallied fourteen.

In three games during the 2023 season, Vidal totaled over 200 yards. One of Vidal’s 200+ yard games came in the Sun Belt Championship Game where he rushed for 233 yards and five touchdowns. Vidal’s five touchdowns in the Sun Belt Championship Game breaks the record set for the most in a FBS and ties the record for touchdowns by a player in a game this season.
