Warming Up With Rain On The Way

We’re closing in on the holiday weekend period and there’s little activity going on with our weather. It’s expected to continue dry with temps gradually warming each day. We could even have a few spots snagging 70 degrees Saturday. As temps warm, moisture increases and eventually that leads to rain. Santa may wanta pack a rain coat on his shed. It’s looking a bit wet Christmas Eve night into Christmas morning.

In the meantime, high pressure will keep us dry and chilly through Friday morning. Mid to upper 30s are likely as we start out the day but afternoon temps will recover nicely into the mid 60s. A persistent westerly wind flow aloft will transport clouds over us at times and that will filter out the sunshine. I’ll have to go with a partly sunny sky. We’re still dry as the low level moisture remains cutoff for now but that changes over the upcoming weekend.

The holiday weekend is setting up to be a bit milder temperaturewise but along with the warm comes moisture. Temps will manage mid to upper 60s for highs through Monday (Christmas Day). For now, it looks like Saturday and most of Sunday will stay dry but rain will enter the state late Sunday (Christmas Eve). It will spread from west to east and most all locations will be seeing rain Christmas morning. I still believe it’s an all rain event without any severe storm risk this time around. Temps will be in the 50s and 60s so you can rule out a white Christmas.
