ACTION 8 UPDATE: Name released of inmate who died in Montgomery County jail
ACTION 8 UPDATE: State investigators have released the name of the inmate who died in the Montgomery County jail.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has identified the inmate at 40-year-old Mauryce Jackson.
Officials say around 10:00PM Thursday, the on-duty medical staff responded to the booking area concerning an inmate experiencing a serious medical condition. Medics from Montgomery Fire & Rescue were there to assist. Efforts to resuscitate Jackson were unsuccessful.
ALEA says at the request of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, special agents with the State Bureau of Investigation have launched an in‐custody death investigation.
Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
