Clouds And Rain Heading Our Way
We’re still on track for rain and possibly a few t-storms to move through the area during our holiday period. It’s looking like just rain without any severe storm threat. Despite the clouds and rain activity, temps will continue rather mild with highs in the upper 60s and lows in the 50s. That’s through Tuesday but get ready for another surge of much colder air later next week.
In the meantime, we expect a mostly cloudy sky with showers working into the area Sunday afternoon. A rumble or two can’t be ruled out but that’s about it. There will be a couple of waves of rain that move through Sunday night into Monday morning. The heaviest will be during the overnight hours Sunday going into Christmas morning. Most of the rain will be east of the I-65 corridor by noon Monday. Rainfall potential looks like .50 up to 1 inch in some spots. The system coming through will be a wind maker and we’re expecting wind gust 15 to 25 mph Christmas Day. The clouds and any linger precipitation will exit our area early Tuesday.
The rest of the week is looking mainly dry but much colder. Temps will drop into the 50s for highs and lows will head back towards the freezing mark. It’s a cold/dry weather pattern that will continue into that following weekend.
Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
