$5,000 reward offered to help solve cold case murder in Opelika
Central Alabama CrimeStoppers is offering a $5,000 reward in the hopes of solving a man’s shooting death in Opelika.
Octavious Bennett was 21 years old when he was killed on July 31, 2018.
Opelika police say he was found shot to death inside a home at the Hickory Haven Trailer Park, which is in the 800 block of Crawford Road.
Witnesses say he was playing video games with friends when they heard several gunshots outside. One bullet traveled through the wall and hit Bennett.
