Man shot and killed in Selma; 20th homicide victim of 2023

Selma police are investigating the city’s 20th homicide of 2023.

Police say 19-year-old Jaylen Whatley was shot at about 10:30PM on Christmas Eve night in the 2400 block of Church Street.

Selma Police Lt. Ray Blanks told Action 8 News today that there are no suspects and no motive in the case so far.
