Troy names Nathan Burton Co-Defensive Coordinator

Troy Head Coach Gerad Parker continues to add new names to his coaching staff with the addition of Co-Defensive Coordinator and inside linebackers coach Nathan Burton.
Burton heads to Troy with over 16 years of coaching experience and several stops at Division I programs including; Georgia Tech, Temple, NC State, Oklahoma State, and most recently Kennesaw State. Burton spent last football season coaching at Kennesaw State and his defense only gave up 17.9 points and 308.2 yards a game.
During the 2022 season, Burton spent time coaching the secondary of the New Orleans Breakers which are a part of the United States Football League.
Burton is also no stranger to coaching in the state of Alabama having coached at West Alabama. During the 2015 season, Burton’s defense at West Alabama led the Gulf South Conference rushing defense. In 2014 Burton’s defense led the conference in total defense, pass defense, and interceptions.
Burton played college football at Georgia Tech.
