Philip Montgomery out as Auburn’s offensive coordinator
Auburn offensive coordinator Philip Montgomery is no longer with the Tigers, head coach Hugh Freeze announced Friday.
Montgomery came to the Tigers in 2023 after being the head coach at the University of Tulsa for 8 years prior.
“I informed Philip today he would not be retained as our offensive coordinator,” Freeze said. “Philip is a good coach and a good man. Decisions like this are never easy, however, I decided this is best for our program moving forward. I’m appreciative of his efforts this past year and wish him nothing but the best.”
Auburn finished the season 6-7, losing the last 3 games. The Tigers ended the season with a 31-13 loss to Maryland in the Music City Bowl.
