3 Degree Guarantee: American Legion Post 1948 gets $1,400 check
We are starting a new month — and a new year — with another 3 Degree Guarantee check to a local charity.
The Johnny Adams Law Firm and Action 8 News are giving a check to American Legion Post 1948.
We are presenting a check for $1,400, which is what we raised in December for getting Montgomery’s high temperature correct in our weather forecasts, within three degrees.
The American Legion post helps the community in a wide variety of ways.
“We provide a lot of assistance,” Frederick Williams, the post commander said. “We are also going to be doing the golf tournament. We’re bringing back the Veterans Day parade this year. Any funding that we get, any assistance, is going toward the efforts we have going forward to assist our community and bring recognition and acknowledgement to the service of our veterans.”
“It’s always great to partner with WAKA and help non-profit organizations,” attorney Johnny Adams said. “This legion post is a really great organization. They help homeless veterans, they also have food drives, and it’s really just an honor to be a part of it. Veterans are very important to us. They protect us, our entire nation, and it’s just an honor to help them.”

The money grows during the month, to produce a big check that we give to charities right here in our area.
