Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su visits Montgomery non-profit

A U.S. official made a stop in the River Region to lend a hand at a Montgomery non-profit.

Acting Secretary of Labor Julie Su stopped by Meals On Wheels Montgomery Friday to tour the facility and help prepare frozen meals that will be given to homebound seniors throughout the area.

Su also spoke at the AFL-CIO’s Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Civil and Human Rights Conference later that day.

The theme of this year’s conference was “Our Voice, Our Ballot, Our Future,” which honors Dr. King’s vision for collective action at the voting booth, in the community and in the workplace to safeguard the pillars of our democracy.
