Ashland man dies from injuries sustained in January 10 wreck in Tallapoosa County

A single-vehicle crash that happened on January 10, has claimed the life of an Ashland man. John A. Norrell, 54, was critically injured when the 2008 GMC Sierra 2500 pickup he was driving left the roadway and overturned. Norrell was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected. Norrell was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional – Midtown, in Columbus, Ga., for medical treatment. On Saturday, Jan. 20, Norrell succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

The crash occurred on Alabama 49 near the 52 mile marker, approximately six miles north of Goldville, in Tallapoosa County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
