WATCH: Mobile County teen wins 2024 Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama
Alabama has a new Distinguished Young Woman.
DeAsia Jones, Distinguished Young Woman of Mobile County, was named the 2024 Distinguished Young Woman of Alabama Saturday night at Frazer Church.
Jones was one of 42 contestants from around the state to compete for the title this year.
She also took home preliminary awards in fitness, talent and interview.
DeAsia Jones tells Action 8 News that she plans to study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Jones will now go on to represent Alabama in the national competition to be held in Mobile in June.
