Local group makes donation to Montgomery warming center

Friday a local group made a donation of much needed items to the Montgomery Warming Center.

When temperatures get at or below freezing, the warming center opens as a refuge for those who need a warm place to stay for the night, or people whos home heating system is having problems.

Montgomery non-profit Citizens That Care, Pastor Ken Austin of Mercy House, and District 7 Montgomery City Councilor Andrew Szymanski collaborated to help.

The group donated blankets, warm clothing, snack bags, personal hygiene bags, fruit, canned goods, and items for hot foot preparation.

The Montgomery Warming Center is located at 3446 LeBron Road.
