Two arrested in Pike County child abuse case

Two people have been arrested in a child abuse case in Pike County.

Brundidge Police Chief Sam Green tells Action 8 News that 24-year-old Mykhail Lane and an underage suspect were arrested as a result of an ongoing investigation.

Details regarding the incident were not made available, but court records say the incident occurred on January 16. The victim is said to be under the age of 6.

While Chief Green did not release any information regarding the child, he did say the child is doing better and in safe hands now.

The Pike County District Attorney’s Office, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and the Pike County Department of Human Resources assisted in the investigation.
