Severe Storm Threat Saturday!

The last in a series of storm systems will move through our area today. Some of the storms could be strong to possibly severe. We’re on the backside of the storms Sunday and that’s when our weather begins to cool down again.

In the meantime, rain and storms are likely for today. For most areas,  it will begin with a round of mainly just rain this morning. A few strong storms are possible across our southern most counties through late morning.  There will be the potential for a second round during the afternoon and early evening hours.  This round could trigger some strong and possibly severe storms. The Storm Prediction Center does have a slight and marginal risk for severe storms covering our area. The main threats will be damaging winds and maybe a brief tornado. Rainfall potential will range between 1 to 2 inches with some spots a little higher. Stay weather aware throughout the day!

Looks like we will see the parade of rain/storms come to an end later Saturday. A frontal system will sweep through Saturday night into early Sunday. This will set us up for drier conditions to return Sunday into early next week. High pressure will return and that should help keep us rain free for a bit. Temps will drop slightly but high temps will hover near the average of 60 degrees.
