St. James School remembers the life of student Carter Carroll

Students, faculty and administrators at St. James School in Montgomery are coming together to remember a student who was killed in an accident nearly two weeks ago.

They are remembering Carter Carroll, who was a senior.

He played baseball, football and participated in other sports for St. James.

Head of School Dr. Larry McLemore said Carter was a great student and athlete who loved his classmates and teammates and had strong faith, character and wisdom.

“Carter was a really, really outstanding man of character. He began here in sixth grade, and he was a gentleman. He was a guy that had his priorities right, and one thing that really stands out about Carter is that he really treated everybody with kindness — whether they were close friends or someone he had just met, and whether it was on the field with teammates or a competitor or just around campus or wherever he was, that kind of character he brought with him everywhere,” McLemore told Action 8 News.

The funeral for Carter Carroll was held last Friday in Troy.
