Inmate dies at Covington County Jail
An Andalusia man, who was an inmate at the Covington County Jail, has died.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the Covington County Sheriff’s Office asked today for an investigation into the death.
34-year-old Justin Aaron Blackmon of Andalusia died while in custody, which was reported at about 2:15 this morning, ALEA says.
An autopsy will be performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
Nothing further was released. Once the investigation is complete, the findings will be turned over to the Covington County District Attorney’s Office.
