ACTION 8 UPDATE: Chantilly Parkway repairs to continue into Monday
ACTION 8 IUPDATE: The Alabama Department of Transportation will continue making repairs to the railroad crossing on Chantilly Parkway between EastChase Parkway and Interstate 85 due to weather delays.
Crews will continue making repairs to the railroad crossing as soon as they are able on Monday and plan to complete repairs by the end of the day, weather permitting.
Due to the nature of the work the crossing has been closed since Saturday morning. To minimize the impact on traffic and avoid a lengthy detour, the work has been done with an on-site detour utilizing lanes headed eastbound headed from the interstate.
ALDOT encourages The Shoppes of EastChase traffic to utilize Taylor Road entrances for the shopping mall and Pike Road traffic to utilize the Montgomery Outer Loop (I-85, Exit 15) to Vaughn Road.
The second phase will begin on Saturday, February 10, work will begin on the eastbound crossing headed away from the interstate with the crossing reopening on Sunday, February 11. All work is weather dependent and could be rescheduled.
Motorists are advised to find an alternate route, plan accordingly for delays, and be mindful of equipment and people in the work zone.
