Rain Sunday night, clouds linger Monday, sunshine Tuesday

Sunday was a gloomy day across central and south Alabama. It was a raw winter day with widespread, steady soaking rain and windy and cold weather otherwise. Sunday’s high temperatures were actually at midnight Saturday night. Temperatures were still in the mid to upper 50s at that point. However, daytime temperatures were in the 40s to around 50°. Wind speeds were sustained at 10 to 20 mph+ with gusts over 30 mph at times.

Rain continues Sunday night, though likely less heavy and widespread than it was during the day. Temperatures remain in the low to mid 40s overnight, while winds remain out of the northeast at 10 to 15 mph. Scattered rain lingers through Monday morning, then tapers off Monday afternoon. However, Monday remains mostly cloudy, cool, and breezy. afternoon temperatures peak in the 50s.

The sky clears Monday night, and temperatures turn cooler. Lows range from the upper 30s to low 40s. Tuesday looks pleasant, with highs in the low to mid 60s and a mostly sunny sky. Wednesday looks rain-free too. Afternoon temperatures peak in the low to mid 60s. Low temperatures range from the upper 30s to low 40s each night. Thursday looks partly cloudy and mild with highs in the mid 60s.
