3 Degree Guarantee: Friendship Mission gets $1,250 check

We have another 3 Degree Guarantee check to give away to a local charity.

The Johnny Adams Law Firm and Action 8 News are giving a check to Friendship Mission.
We are presenting a check for $1,250, which is what we raised in January for getting Montgomery’s high temperature correct within three degrees during our Action 8 weather forecasts.
Friendship Mission helps the community by offering food and shelter to those in need.
“This helps our mission a lot,” Tara Davis of Friendship Mission said. “Not only can we use the money for a match for our federal grants, but we feed people, we buy shoes, we buy work boots or prescriptions. We run our shelters and our soup kitchens, so we help those who are homeless and hungry. We help people get on their feet.”
“It’s great to be in a partnership with WAKA and Friendship Mission,” Johnny Adams of the Johnny Adams Law Firm said. “What they do is a great service: helping homeless and helping feed people that are hungry. Sometimes we don’t think people are in that shape or in that condition but they really are. It’s just wonderful that people are helping other people who are in need and help them get back on their feet.”
The Johnny Adams Law Firm and Action 8 News each chip in $25 every day that our weather team gets Montgomery’s high temperature forecast right, within three degrees. The money grows during the month, to produce a big check that we give to charities right here in our area.
