Murder investigation underway after a fatal shooting in Marion
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
Marion Police are investigating that city’s first murder of 2024 — following a shooting at a convenience store early Thursday morning.
Police Chief Tony Bufford says officers responded to the Texaco gas station on Murfee Street at around 1 in the morning. And when they arrived — they found a man on the ground unresponsive — in front of the store.
Bufford said it appeared the man had been shot several times — and he was pronounced dead on the scene.
No arrest has been made in the case — but there is a person of interest.
Bufford says the ALEA State Bureau of Investigation is the lead agency in this on-going investigation.
