Alabama State Troopers say 67-year-old Jimmy L. Thomas was driving a car that collided head-on with an SUV driven by 52-year-old Billy J. Harris, also of Alexander City.

State troopers say Thomas died at the scene. They say Harris and his passenger, 72-year-old Shirley A. Harris of Dadeville, were both injured and taken to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City for treatment.

The wreck happened at about 5:25PM yesterday on Alabama Highway 259, about eight miles from Alexander City.
