A Streak Of Dry Days Ahead

The disturbance responsible for the wet conditions is moving away this evening. In its wake an area of high pressure will be building in over us going forward this week. This will result in mainly sunny and dry conditions for several days.

In the meantime, clouds will still linger over the area tonight. Northwest winds of 10-20 mph will make it a bit breezy. Temps will drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s for overnight lows. The clouds gradually give way to sunshine but temps still remain rather cool with highs in the upper 50s Tuesday afternoon.

Wednesday is Valentines Day and we’re getting some pretty nice conditions to celebrate the day. We’re expecting abundant sunshine and temps should respond with highs in the lower to mid 60s. The warming trend will continue through the work week. Upper 60s to lower 70s are likely Thursday and Friday.

We head into the weekend with another rain maker taking aim at the deep south. It’s a frontal system and it moves into the area Friday night. Our sky clouds up and showers are likely to move through the area. The clouds and rain activity will hold temps down a bit Saturday. We’re only managing upper 50s for highs Saturday afternoon. Another area of high pressure begins building over the region Sunday into early next week. This will provide us sunny and dry conditions for Sunday through the middle of next week.
