ACTION 8 UPDATE: 18-year-old charged in 16-year-old’s shooting death in Montgomery

Montgomery police say they’ve arrested an 18-year-old as an additional suspect in the shooting death of a 16-year-old male. He is the fourth to be arrested.

Police say Willie Cole of Montgomery has been charged with capital murder. He was taken into custody in Prattville by U.S. Marshals and is being held without bond.

The 16-year-old was shot on September 20, 2023.  As Action 8 News has reported, he was shot in the 3200 block of Cloud Street. His name hasn’t been released.

A 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old male, both from Montgomery, were charged with capital murder in December. Earlier this month, 19-year-old Raymond Kemp of Montgomery was arrested in Cocoa, Florida, on the same charge.
