ACTION 8 UPDATE: Montgomery police launch homicide investigation after shooting victim dies

Montgomery police have announced they are launching a homicide investigation following the death of a shooting victim.

Police say 35-year-old Richie Freeney of Montgomery died today. Freeney was shot at around 7:23PM on Friday, December 22, 2023, in the 330 block of McElvy Street.

Police have released no other information.
