Prattville police say a Montgomery man faces six counts of falsely reporting incidents.

Police say 23-year-old Christopher Eugene Sanspree, Jr., made several phone calls to Autauga County E911 to report the false incidents, which are also called “swatting.”

Prattville Police Chief Mark Thompson told Action 8 News that Sanspree is employed by the Montgomery Police Department and was on duty at the time of the incidents. Thompson says Sanspree was arrested in Montgomery.

Police say these false incidents were serious in nature and required a substantial amount of resources to respond to each call as well as a considerable amount of investigative resources to be used.

The bond for each warrant was set at $1,000 cash-only.  Thompson says Sanspree has been released on bond.
