Alabama State announces Paterson Court Digital Technology Center

Alabama State University has announced the creation of the Paterson Court Digital Technology Center.

Its goal is to help local citizens with digital literacy skills.

The program is called BRACCE, which stands for Broadening Access Though Community Connectivity and Education. It is operating with a $2.9 million grant through the U.S. Department of Commerce.

The Paterson Court public housing community has 11 residents who have already signed up for the program.

“I truly believe that by expanding broadband access for these communities and establishing a digital technology center, we have an opportunity to change the lives and help to form the greatest history makers for tomorrow,” ASU President Dr. Quinton Ross said.

Participants will receive a certificate after completing the training program.
