Conecuh Sausage to build second production facility in Andalusia
Evergreen-based Conecuh Sausage has announced that it will open a second production facility in Andalusia to keep up with demand for its iconic products.
At a ceremony Wednesday in Andalusia, company officials were joined by state and local leaders for a celebration.
The family-owned company plans to invest $58 million in the plant, which will create more than 100 jobs.
“You’ve got to work with a community who is working with their city, their county, their economic development, their existing businesses. You want a community like Andalusia who really has their act together in that way,” Alabama Commerce Secretary Ellen McNair told Action 8 News.
“It is a validation of all the hard work that we have been putting in for many years, to invest in ourselves to get a company like Conecuh Sausage to invest in Andalusia, and its come to pass,” Andalusia Mayor Earl Johnson said.
