14-year-old charged with setting Montgomery house on fire
A 14-year-old boy has been charged with arson after a house fire in Montgomery.
Montgomery Fire/Rescue Department Assistant Fire Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire happened Sunday at a one-story home in the 2200 block of Terrance Avenue. Heavy smoke and flames could be seen when firefighters arrived.
Cooper says the boy became a suspect in the fire. He says Montgomery police then contacted fire investigators to say the same boy was in custody in the possible connection to a previous fire.
Cooper says the boy, in the presence of his mother, admitted to starting the fire. He is charged with arson in the second degree.
