Kilby correctional officer, wife arrested

The Alabama Department of Corrections tells Action 8 News that a correctional officer at the Kilby Correctional Facility and his wife have been arrested.

ADOC officials say Mario Grant was charged with Use of Official Position for Personal Gain and Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance Crime.

Grant was transported the Montgomery County Jail.

A search warrant was also served at his home resulting in the arrest of his wife, Carole Grant. She was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Controlled Substance Crime.

Officials say Mario Grant has resigned his position with the ADOC.

The case remains under investigation and further charges may be pending.
