ACTION 8 UPDATE: The son of Montgomery County Circuit Judge Johnny Hardwick has had a bond hearing on charges that he attacked his father, leaving the judge seriously injured.

Khalfani Hardwick is accused of stabbing his father several times in the neck and face last Saturday before shooting him in the face at their home. Judge Hardwick’s injuries were described as serious, and no updates have been given this week on his condition.

Khalfani Hardwick is charged with attempted murder, domestic violence and illegally having a gun.

Retired Autauga County Circuit Judge Ben Fuller is handling the court case.

Khalfani Hardwick was denied bail.

Action 8 News found court records that show in March 2014, Khalfani Hardwick was charged with attempted murder after police say he shot a man in the back of the head during an altercation on Carmichael Road. Documents show he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault in the second degree in 2017.
