1 dead, 2 injured in Autauga County crash

23fatalwreckA two-vehicle crash in Autauga County has claimed the life of a Selma man and injured two others.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency tells Action 8 News that the accident happened on Alabama 14 near the 142 mile marker, approximately one mile east of Autaugaville.

26-year-old Jamarcus Thomas was fatally injured when the car he was driving collided head-on with another vehicle.

Troopers say Thomas was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead on the scene.

A passenger was in the car with Thomas and the driver of the other vehicle were also injured. Both were taken to Baptist South for treatment.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
