Two arrested on drug-related charges in Alexander City

Alex City Drug ArrestAlexander City police have arrested two people on several drug-related charges.

Officials say on March 14, officers conducted a safety checkpoint on Comer Street in Alexander City.

At the checkpoint, the driver of a black Impala fled the area traveling south on Comer Street, initiating a short pursuit.

During the pursuit, the driver and passenger of the vehicle began throwing items from the vehicle prior to bringing the vehicle to a stop inside a nearby apartment complex.

While searching the area of Comer Street for the items, officers recovered approximately 1.2 lbs. of Methamphetamine, digital scales, and a 9mm handgun.

Also recovered at the time of the traffic stop was 91 Suboxone Films, $1,060.00 in cash, and a 2010 Chevrolet Impala.

Officers arrested 47-year-old Neville William Parker, of Ashland, and 33-year-old Chassady Nicole Hudson, of Alexander City.

Parker has been charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Certain Persons Forbidden to Possess a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with Physical Evidence, Promoting Prison Contraband, Attempting to Elude Law Enforcement, and Driving Under the Influence.

Hudson has been charged with Trafficking Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The case remains under investigation.
