Hundreds attend Zoo Weekend at Montgomery Zoo

Hundreds of people in Montgomery went wild today at the 48th Annual Zoo Weekend.

The Montgomery Zoo was transformed into a carnival-like atmosphere, with live entertainment, delicious food, fun rides, and more.

Visitors walked around the zoo to look at the animals and play games.

All of the money raised during Zoo Weekend will fund the construction of a new reptile facility.

The new reptile facility will be home to the current reptile collection, as well as new animals such as a King Cobra, Komodo Dragon, and Galapagos Tortoise.

Zoo Weekend dates back to the mid-70s and the success of this event allows the zoo to grow and build new exhibits.

Sunday’s Zoo Weekend festivities were canceled due to overnight rain, but the zoo will remain open for visitors.
