A Warming Trend Begins

Spring has sprung but winter lingers for just a bit, well at least through the overnight into early Wednesday. Colder air continues to linger over us and it will lead to the potential for areas of frost overnight. Fortunately, the cold air retreats and the rest of the week will be trending a bit milder.

In the meantime, clear skies and cold air remains in place for tonight. Temps will drop into the mid to upper 30s for lows. Patchy frost is likely, so take care of those tender plants and make sure the pets have a warm place to stay. We quickly thaw out as temps manage the lower 70s Wednesday afternoon. Temps will continue to climb through the week and highs will be in the mid 70s Thursday. Morning temps will head into the 40s and 50s as the week progresses.

Our next weather maker will be an area of low pressure moving across the northern Gulf of Mexico later in the week. It’s track will bring in clouds and rain for us. Anything stronger will stay well to our south. We expect a cloudy and rainy Friday around here. The backside of the disturbance will linger into some of Saturday as well. It’s looking mostly cloudy with some showers early Saturday but full sunshine over us Sunday. Temps will reach the mid to upper 60s Saturday and lower 70s for highs Sunday.
