8 ON YOUR SIDE: Lovers of Krispy Kreme doughnuts will soon be able to buy them at McDonald’s restaurants nationwide.
The doughnuts will begin to go on sale at McDonald’s later this year. Three types will be delivered each day — glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles and cream filled with chocolate icing. They’ll be sold individually or in packages of six daily until they run out.
The idea was tested at more than 100 McDonald’s locations in Kentucky and Indiana.
It will be a slow rollout. Doughnuts are not expected to be available nationwide until 2026.
The move will greatly expand Krispy Kreme’s retail presence, which has mostly been in the South and in California until now. Krispy Kreme has 377 locations, while McDonald’s has 13,500.
