Storms down trees and knock out power in Plantersville

From the West Alabama Newsroom–

Overnight storms downed several trees in one neighborhood in the Plantersville area of Dallas County.

Strong winds snapped and uprooted trees around homes on County Road 560.

Wal Dcdamage0403 VoCrews have now cleared blocked roadways — and piled up debris along the side of the road.

Some of the downed trees snapped power lines knocking out power to area homes — but none of them were damaged.

“Everybody’s house on County Road 560 made it through,” said Michelle House.

“We just have a lot of trees down and a couple of fences down. But other than that we are very thankful that everybody’s house was spared.”

EMA Director Toya Stiles-Crusoe says crews had to clear several blocked roads around the county after the storm. But no other damage or injuries have been reported.
