Baseball fans celebrate the Montgomery Biscuits home opener

The Montgomery Biscuits were back in action for the first time in 2024 on Tuesday evening at Riverwalk Stadium.

The team hadn’t played at home since last September.

The Biscuits will look to add on to the already club-record eight consecutive playoff appearances after bowing out in the 2023 South Division Championship Series to Pensacola for the second straight year.

“I came out to support the home team. The crowd, the atmosphere you know, coming out to watch the Biscuits play. Hopefully, they can win a championship. It’s a joy coming out to watch the Biscuits play and I look forward to coming back again,” Sidney Pointer said.

Emma Lindsey, who’s a member of the Pike Road Show Choir, loves being back.

“Last year, when we were here singing the national anthem, the fireworks and just having a good time with like all my school friends and show choir friends,” she said.

The Biscuits beat the Pensacola Blue Wahoos 9-0. The Biscuits started the season on the road last Friday, going 1-2 against Biloxi before coming home to play Pensacola.

The Montgomery Biscuits debuted in 2004 and won the Southern League title in 2006 and 2007.
