Three arrested at Staton Prison on contraband charges

The Alabama Department of Corrections says two women and a juvenile male are charged with trying to bring contraband into Staton Prison in the town of Elmore.

ADOC says on Tuesday, officers confiscated a bookbag containing charging blocks, charging wires, earbuds, knives, cell phones and bag of assorted drugs.

Investigators say Hannah Crowder and Carrie Drake were taken to the Elmore County Jail and charged with trafficking, prohibited activities and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

They say Crowder was also charged with obstruction of justice for giving a false name and social security number to law enforcement. 

Investigators say the juvenile male was also taken to the Elmore County Jail and will be charged as an adult for trafficking,  prohibited activities, and gun possession.   

ADOC says further charges may be pending.
