Habitat for Humanity dedicates home to Montgomery family

Montgomery Habitat for Humanity has dedicated a new home to a family.

Darius Bush, Sr., Jessica Johnson and their family were welcomed into their new home in the New Hope Village community on Thursday.

Habitat for Humanity is using the celebration to launch its “Blitz Build Initiative.” It aims to construct several homes at the same time to help tackle the problem of a lack of affordable housing.

“Your new home is more than a roof over your head, it represents the start of a new chapter in your life,” Regina Walker, the president of Montgomery Habitat for Humanity told Action 8 News. “A place where memories will be made and dreams will come true.”

“I’m just blessed. We are thankful, we’re blessed, and we just thank God we’re here,” Jessica Johnson said.

April is recognized as National Fair Housing Month.
