Montgomery County Parks & Recreation Department to host health & wellness fairs

23montgomerycountycommissionThe Montgomery County Parks & Recreation Department is hosting two community Health & Wellness Fairs in April.

The fairs, which are free and open to the public, will take place on April 13 and April 20.

County officials tell Action 8 News that residents will have the chance to explore healthy living opportunity, meet with community agencies and learn about local resources available.

The events will also feature the Alabama Cooperative Extension System’s Mobile Nutrition Lab and Health Services Inc.’s Mobile Health Unit.

“We are excited to host two Health & Wellness Fairs this year,” said Montgomery County Commission Chairman Doug Singleton. “An active and healthy lifestyle is key, and these events are a great way for residents to get plugged in to local resources that promote exercise, nutrition, and wellness!”

The first one will take place on April 13 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Elton Dean, Sr. Park on Old Selma Road in Montgomery. The other will take place on April 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Montgomery County Activity Center on Old School House Road in Grady.
