Rain May Have An Impact On Weekend Plans

We head into Friday with a frontal boundary approaching the state. This boundary will be the focal point for rain activity over the upcoming weekend. It won’t be a washout but rain activity could have an impact on some of your outdoor plans.

In the meantime, you can expect a mostly cloudy sky and temps in the mid to upper 60s overnight. There is the chance our northern most counties could see a shower but everyone else will remain rain free for now. The frontal boundary will push through the state and end up across south Alabama Friday afternoon. Rain chances will be low but a shower or two can’t be ruled out. Some spots will see a decent amount of sunshine and temps will respond. Lower to mid 80s are likely area wide.

Over the weekend, the frontal system will continue to hover over south Alabama and the Florida panhandle. Scattered showers will be around and temps will manage the lower 80s for highs Saturday. A disturbance will move along the frontal boundary Sunday. This area of low pressure will help increase rain chances across the area. Clouds and rain are likely and temps will take a hit. We’re expecting temps to only reach the upper 60s to lower 70s Sunday afternoon. Rainfall potential will range between .50 up 1-inch.

Early next week, we’re back to dry and cool conditions starting Monday. High pressure will return to the deep south. Our skies will clear out and temps cool down. Morning temps start out in the mid to upper 40s Monday and Tuesday. Afternoon temps will hover in the mid 70s. Another warming trend will kick in by midweek and we’re back in the 80s once again.
