Montgomery man arrested in weekend shooting that injured another man

Montgomery police say a man has been arrested in a shooting that occurred over the weekend.
MPD has charged 40-year-old Jamie Shorts, of Montgomery, in a shooting that happened around 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the 1000 block of Rosedale Drive.
According to court documents obtained by Action 8 News, Shorts shot an another male at close range with an unknown type of handgun shooting him in the back of his left thigh.
The unidentified male victim was taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Shorts is charged with first degree assault and is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $30,000 bond.
