Lowndes Co. murder suspect turns himself in to authorities
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
A Lowndes County man is behind bars tonight — accused in the shooting death of a Mosses man.
Twenty-seven year old Laquarious Safford of Minter — turned himself in to authorities Monday. He told investigators that he was involved in an ongoing beef — that lead up to the shooting.
Deputies found 29 year old Marcus Wright inside a car — that had crashed into a telephone pole in Minter on Friday.
Wright had been shot several times — and was pronounced dead on the scene.
Safford is charged with murder — attempted murder — and shooting-into-an-occupied-vehicle.
“Inside the car with Mr. Wright was a passenger and the passenger was also in the line of fire when the shots were fired that killed Mr. Wright,” said LCSO CID Commander Anthony Green.
“So, we’re charging him for the endangerment and possibility of killing the passenger.”
The case remains under investigation.
