Summer-Like Heat Through Midweek!
Calendar shows early May but it’s feeling a bit more June these days. Our weather continues under the influence of high pressure and that’s leading to a rather warm weather pattern. Temps will climb to summer-like readings. Lower 80s are the average highs for this time of the year but we’re managing the upper 80s to lower 90s over the next several days. Fortunately, there is some heat relief on the way but it’s going be several days before it arrives.
In the meantime, we see occasional weather systems heading our way but weakening as they do. Some will help ignite showers and storms at times. Most showers or t-storms will be scattered and during the afternoon heating and linger into the evening hours. Temps will continue rather warm with highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees and lows in the mid to upper 60s.
The workweek ahead is looking summer-like through midweek. Temps will continue to top out in the upper 80s to lower 90s. The hottest day will be Wednesday and that’s when most spots see there first 90 plus degree day. There will be lots of sunshine at times but moisture will be streaming into the area and that will lead to scattered showers or t-storms. A late season cold front will make a run at the state Thursday. Rain and storms are likely and we can’t rule out a few strong to possibly severe storms. The front moves through and drier air spills into the area behind the front late Friday. This should be dry/cooler air and a welcome break from the summer-like heat from early in the week. All indications are we get nice and rather mild weather conditions for our the entire weekend.
