The Atlanta Falcons help bring Girl’s Flag Football to Alabama
The Atlanta Falcons have announced that the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation will be giving grants to 20 schools around the state of Alabama to aid in launching girls’ flag football programs.
These efforts were starting in 2019 when the Falcons helped make girls flag football an official high school sport in Georgia. The state of Georgia became the fourth state to recognize girl’s flag football as an official high school sport.
After the success in Georgia, the Falcons collaborated with RCX Sports and the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) to help bring girl’s flag football to Alabama in 2021. During the 2024-25 school year the AHSAA sanctioned girl’s flag football as an official sport. Now, 112 school across the state have girl’s flag football programs.
