Behind the Biscuits: Carson Williams
Biscuits Baseball
On the Montgomery Biscuits roster you will find the Rays number two prospect which is short stop Carson Williams.
Williams a native of San Diego, California was drafted by the Rays back in 2021 in the first round as the 28th pick.
“First thing that comes after that is you actually have to sign with the team and I had a wonderful trip out to Tampa Bay and went and met Erik Neander and all the higher ups there and I signed my first contract with my parents there. Just the surreal moments when you realize oh my gosh this is actually happening and then it’s time to get to work, just straight to Port Charlotte, Florida where we’re based at and it’s history from there,” says Williams.
Since the 2021 draft, Williams has spent three years making his way through the Rays minor league system and up the prospect list. During his three seasons in the minors Williams has spent time with each of the Rays minor league teams (FCL Rays, Charleston RiverDogs, Bowling Green Hot Rods, Durham Bulls, and the Biscuits.)
“First off I can’t say enough about the Rays Organization and our players here. They have made this experience just as good as it can be. I’ve made so many really good friends along the way and learned a whole lot,” says Williams.
And some might think with being the number two prospect comes a large amount of pressure, Williams uses it as a motivation factor to keep getting better.
“I think all it is is a testament to how they believe in me and I’m honored to be in that position and all I can do is work hard everyday and try and get better.”
