Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club’s Shrimp Boil draws hundreds to Union Station Train Shed
The Montgomery Sunrise Rotary Club held their annual shrimp boil on Saturday. The event featured family fun, including kids’ games and activities. Musical entertainment was provided by the “Lo-Fi Loungers” band. Auto aficionados were treated to a “Cool Cars” show by the Capital City Street Rod Association.
Since 2005, more than $235,000 has been distributed by Sunrise Rotary to local charities. A $2,000 check was presented to Meals on Wheels, $12,000 was given to Camp ASCCA, and $5,000 went to buy a new lawn mower for Legacy Heritage gardens. Sunrise Rotary formally presented the 2024 “Commitment to Service Award” to Britney McCurry-Wingate and Reverend Ken Austin during the Shrimp Boil.
